Natural Breast Enlargement

About Fat Transfer

If you are looking for a natural breast enlargement and just want a small increase in breast size, this procedure may be the right solution.

Fat transfer breast augmentation or Lipofilling is an appealing option to people who want to improve the volume of some areas without using artificial implant.

Fat transfer, also called fat grafting, enhances one area of the body with fat that is harvested from another area using a classic liposuction procedure (SAFELipo).

It will restore and harmonise the volume of the breast.

Using liposuction, the fat is removed from unwanted areas. The common sites for this are the abdomen, love handles, inner and outer thighs. This fat is then prepared for transfer and injected through multiple small 4-5mm incisions around the breast mount.

It’s also important to know that in many cases, one-third of the fat injected into the breast area may be reabsorbed by the body over time and the breast may lose some volume. This is why we initially add more fat than you think you need.

Depending on the breast size expected, fat grafting requires between 1 to 4 individual sessions at least three months apart to allow time for the previous graft to settle in.

You may choose to have multiple sequential fat transfers or alternatively, you may choose to combine the fat transfer with a small implant to attain the overall enlargement you want.

The benefit of this over breast implants alone is that the implant will be smaller and there will be more of your own tissue/fat over the top of it so you are less likely to feel the implant and your breasts will feel more natural.

Fat grafting can also be used on the face (Facial Rejuvenation) and to reshape the buttocks (Brazilian Butt lift).

Frequently asked questions

Before surgery, Dr Ballieux will give you specific recovery instructions for fat transfer patients. While patient experiences vary, you can expect recovery to follow this general timeline:

First 1 to 2 Days

You will need a friend or family member to drive you home after surgery, to stay with you for the first 24 hours.

Sleeping in a recliner or propped up with pillows will help minimize swelling. You can expect to be up and about the day after surgery.

Some temporary bruising, swelling, and numbness of the breasts can be expected. You can use medication prescribed by your plastic surgeon to control discomfort, if needed.

2 to 4 Weeks
For at least 2 to 4 weeks, you will be required to wear a compression garment to minimize swelling where the fat has been harvested and limit any strenuous activity.

Follow-up Appointment
You will have a follow-up appointment approximately 5 days after surgery.

Return to Work
Most patients are ready to return to their everyday activities within 1 week, and physical activities are limited for one month or more.

The cost for lipofilling or fat transfer procedures typically starts from 2,000 euros.

Fat transfer performed for purely cosmetic reasons will not be covered by your insurance. However, if the procedure is a medical necessity, as when performed to repair scars or treat a lipoatrophy after an injury, some of the cost may be covered under an insurance plan.
